Student at the University of Kansas. As of 1 January 2009, he is still the world record holder in 100m (10.21 seconds); 200m (21.15) and 400m (45.29). 1991 USA Junior champion among the non-deaf in 100m and 200m. The first and only deaf person to be a 1994 USA Olympic Festival gold medal winner in the 400m. Because of injury, missed out on making the national team for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Participated at various world-class meets in 100m, 200m and 400m for the top elite non-deaf runners in Europe, Latin American and the United States. 1993 USA Deaf Sports Federation/USA Athlete of the Year Award Winner.
