3. Ranking Calculation Cycle

The ranking is calculated over a 4-year cycle, aligned with the Summer Deaflympics, and includes qualifying competitions at the Regional Zone level. The timeline is as follows:

  • Year 1: No competition included
  • Year 2: World Deaf Basketball Championships
  • Year 3: Regional Deaf Basketball Championships
  • Year 4: Summer Deaflympics - Basketball

When a new championship is played, the oldest event in that category drops out of the calculation. Rankings are recalculated after each event to ensure accuracy and reflect recent performances.
