With less than 280 days to go until the start of the Championships, progress is continuing to be made. The website www.wdgc2010.com was launched and great feedback has been received as a result.
In September 2009, Scottish Deaf Golf Association and Sportworks Limited hosted representatives from the World Deaf Golf Federation. Golf was arranged for the group on the Torrance Course, one of the host courses for the British Open Qualifying, and the course for the World Deaf Golf Championships in 2010. David Wilson of the SDGA was triumphant on the day, and will hopefully take that form forward to next years championships.
The course is based at the Fairmont Hotel St. Andrews which provided the group with accommodation for the two days at reduced cost. The event details were finalised as a result of the visit and all venues have now been contracted for the opening, closing and mid function ceremonies.
All that is needed now is for teams to start making their arrangements to take part in what is hoped to be the best World Championships to date.
Kind Regards,
Stephen Minto
