Rajeev won the men’s singles once again at the recent World Deaf Badminton Championship in Germany. He has not lost his singles match since 1989 when he first emerged in the official competition. He is also a very unselfish player and he even accepted many bad calls by umpires without challenge. This has shown what a true sportsman he is. Rajeev has melted many people’s heart at the 2nd World Deaf Badminton Championship by giving up his silver medal for the men’s doubles to the family of Lithuanian promising player, Andirus Jankus who was tragically killed by car accident recently. This was a wonderful gesture by Rajeev and he deserves the award for being the best male badminton player and excellent personality in and out of court.
